What would be your response if i asked you, Who are you?” Would you first list the things you do and the roles you play in life? Would you say, ” I am a teacher,” ” I am a doctor,” “I am a blogger,” ” I am a mother and a wife,”? Would you also tell me where you live, what your hobbies and interests are or what you want to do in the nearest future? Any of these answers would describe what you do, but none of them would be able to tell me who you are.
As a child of God, one of the important realities is for you to understand who you are in Christ, your identity in Him. Your understanding of who you are in Christ is vitally important. When people receive Jesus Christ by faith as their personal saviour, God sees them as made right with Him and as “in” Jesus. Being in Christ is not about what you do, is about who you are. It’s not about how you view yourself, but about how God sees you. It’s not about your activity, it’s about your identity. It’s not about your “do” it’s about your “who”. It’s about what you believe.
I strongly doubt if the daughter of my president were to visit Lagos, if anyone would ask for a list of what she could do. She would have immediate access and favour because of who she was. If this dynamics works with humans, just imagine how much more valuable it is to be a child of God. But, if my Presidents daughter doesn’t know she is, she won’t be able to use her identity to her advantage. Get the picture? This same scenario applies to believers who do not know their identity in Christ. They would never be able to access their rights and privileges.
We need to be contious of who we are in Christ and who we are outside Christ. By ourselves, we are nothing, we have nothing, and we can achieve nothing of value.
Colossians 2:10 ” And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power” In Christ we have everything he promised in His word. The Bible teaches us so many wonderful truths about who we are and what we stand to gain.
We must not allow other people’s opinion to determine our value.
” You are precious and valued in His sight.”
We go through life asking ourselves this same question , mostly in our subconscious. Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth would care to know my name. Who am I, a speck in the sandy-shore of creation, that the supreme being would even love me. I love how your post pointed out that by ourselves, we are nothing. In him we live, and move and have our being. In him we are complete. Amazing!
Yes Ade, i really appreciate your wonderful contribution. It reminded me once again how much God loves us and thinks highly of us. Am glad you dropped by.
A nice article and difficult riddle in order to Who I am, well
i could be a sand grain in a path, a path of life…
Thank you weedjee, am happy to hear that you know who you are. You can achieve anything you set your mind on.

A burden
It’s alright my dear. I totally understand. For stopping by and commenting, i don’t think you are a burden. I think you special and wonderfully made. Am happy to have you here. Pls do visit again.Thank you.
Thanks.
You are most welcome
who am i? what is the meaning of life? i dont spend much time thinking about either of these subjects as i dont feel i am fully qualified to or have the knowledge to answer those questions. there are others in this world who are, i feel better qualified and most likely want to ponder those questions. so, who am i? as popeye would say, “i am what i am.” and i came to accept who i am long ago. i am not perfect and i i am ok with that for nothing and no one is. as for the meaning of life? again i dont think about it. i just try and live it the best i can. some days are better than others. maybe that is what it’s really all about?
Thank you buddy, glad you dropped by. You are not alone on this. Some people don’t like to talk about this, they rather live one day at a time with the knowledge of who they are and want to be. Am happy you shared with us. Thank you once again.
Reblogged this on disue.

Thank you very much for your kind gesture

Thank you dear.
You’re welcome.
I believe, I had given a presentation on this very topic “Who Are You”? but it didn’t go in the same direction as this post of yours, but it was the first ever presentation I did and it felt so good..just 3 words and a whole story opens up if you think of answering it.
Good post again.
For real?… I guess the quest to discover who we are keeps taking us in different route but what matters is that we arrive at the same destination. It’s really good to know your presentation went well. Keep it up. Thank you very much for sharing with us.
