Troubled times

Troubled times

Hello everyone,

The signs of the times are all over us, you can see how strange events play out every day all across the globe. The question is, – “are you becoming too familiar with the signs to the point where your familiarity becomes your own downfall?”. We are at the point where things are at the point in life where things are becoming repetitive. Everyone understands that things aren’t getting better, but worse. We are all without excuse as long as we are of reasonable age.

The year 2020 has just begun and already we see the calamities happening around the world, shaking the foundations of the earth. For instance:  the rain of fire in Australia, the overwhelming surge of heat waves in Nigeria, spread of Lassa fever in Nigeria, outbreak of Coronavirus in China and some other countries, and many more. Strange things keep happening in rapid succession and one can’t help but wonder, “what is the meaning of these signs?”

It would be safe to say that many who were once unbelievers are now becoming believers, studying the word of God, to fully grasp the meaning of the events stated in the Bible and happening now. While this is happening, some others are being shaken to either fall for the truth or fall away from the truth.

You either fall in love or out of love with your heavenly father. We are at the point where if you are not careful, you may become obsessed with keeping up with the signs of the times and miss the picture- securing your relationship with your heavenly father.

Be careful that you don’t fall for the trap of becoming more fascinated with what’s happening in the world than in you. You either become fascinated or see the events happening as an avenue to get it right with Jesus Christ. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to know what’s happening in your world and community, but it mustn’t replace your faith in God.

Many people do not have a personal relationship with God Almighty, thereby making it difficult for them to study or believe his word in turbulent times. You cannot go to someone else for salvation except to Jesus Christ. A few are ever learning and seeking knowledge, but never coming to the full knowledge of the truth.

A lot of Christians have created God in their own image. The big question is- “have you created God in your own image?”

I read a comment by someone and it said – ” oh, God is so loving. He allows me to do whatever I want. He is not going to judge me. He understands that I can’t keep all his commandments, so I believe he’s going to be compassionate with me regardless of my flaws. Even if I rebel against him, he wouldn’t disown me. He loves me too much.”

I was completely flawed by this comment and the image of God he has created in his beautiful head. Sadly, the image of God we’ve created doesn’t commensurate with the image of God in the Bible. Yes, we are in the era of grace, but be not mistaken; the same God the Israelites worshipped, who had strict rules over breaking any of his commandments, is still the same God today. He hasn’t changed nor aged a bit. Probation is running out.

These are perilous times we live in and these times are calling for young, old, men and women, to stand up and fight to protect the truth they’ve been taught. If you think you’re saved, yet loved by the world, you talk like the world, behave like the world, have friendship with the world, conform with the world, then you’re mistaken.

If you’re trying to fit in, and yet you can’t fit in, then you’re not meant to fit in. You’re created to be different and unique. Your friends should be able to look at you and see Christlike behavior and godliness, not the other way round. If everything you do mimics the characters of everyone around you, then you’ve got a problem.
Take time out to reflect and ask your heavenly father-

“What am I doing wrong heavenly father?
Make my sins known to me.
Show me, that I may amend and change my ways.
Help me reflect the character of Christ. Amen.”

In Jesus is where you need to be regardless of the signs if times you see around you. Take your salvation seriously. The world won’t get more comfortable for you except you’re in safely tucked in Christ. Search and draw closer to God through his word. There’s life in the word of God. Stay in the word, don’t get too familiar with the events happening around you, and get all caught up in the mist.

God bless you.

Love ❤️?
