One of my favourite way to relax is to write and after that watch a good movie. Spending time with my family is non-negotiable. I pay attention to the people i let into my life and that of my loved ones. The people we surround ourselves with have the right to influence our lives positively or negatively. Setting high standards and living a godly lifestyle will always bring peace, joy, stability and blessings to our life and set us on a good path for the future.

God is interested in the influences we allow into our lives. We need to be very careful about the people with whom we choose to spend our time, what we see, and what we hear. Psalm 1:1 “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” To go along with whatever other people want is dangerous and to act in fear or desperation is more dangerous.
There is no law that says you must do what others are doing or be where they are. Forget your own path, if you must follow watch carefully and choose right. You may not be able to change their path but you definitely can stir your own course right. It is often easier to just go along with other people and do what the majority is doing but believe me in the long run it will cause us tremendous misery and heartache.

Make a conscious effort to set high standards for yourself concerning what you wear, what you watch, what you listen to, where you go, how you use your time, spend money, serve the Lord, who you associate with and how you entertain yourself. Be humble in your stead and never commonise anyone. Know what you want and go for it. Don’t be among the band wagon that says “Today I will serve the Lord, tomorrow I will go along with the people, what they do, I do.” Have your own voice.
Make a conscious decision to serve God wholeheartedly, allow him order your steps. Psalms 37:23 (KJV)  The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” Don’t go if the Lord is not going and if your Spirit is not in tune with it. You don’t have to if you don’t want to. Put God in the centre of everything you do and watch him take care of the rest.
