Am sick and tired of being lied to.
It’s not the lie that bothers me, it’s the insult to my intelligence.
It’s the fact that the ones we care about keeps lieing to us.
But expects us to tell them the truth,
How convenient right?
Every one tells you what they think you should hear,
But not the truth.
They quickly make decisions about your life,
But never about theirs.
You constantly feel like you don’t have a say,
Your opinions don’t count.
Every step you take scares them,
When you try to speak, your voice is silenced.
Every time they lie to you, they remind you that you are not worth the truth.
Is that true?
Don’t I deserve to know the truth, even if it’s going to hurt,
Why is it that those who lies to us, are those we believe in?
Why are people so quick to lie?
It’s easier and cheesy right?
I want the truth, no matter how ugly it is,
Don’t you?

I feel like I am on a truth mission all the time, something like being a detective, a nosy person. I feel I have become an introvert from an extrovert because I choose to listen rather than talk and when I listen I listen for clues to the truth. I seem to be obsessed with my quest for the truth.

It depends on the lie. I’ve lied out of love, as in not to worry my mother. I’ve lied out of respect, like when a friend is wearing something she absolutely loves and I think it’s ugly (why crush someones spirit? If it’d look terrible on them I’d tell them, not if it’s only my opinion but it suits them and they love it).
I really do hate being lied to when the lie goes deeper. When people say something very insulting and when I confront them they deny it (so, so low). Or when they lie about how I treated them badly yet cannot tell a living soul WHAT I did. Evil lies, those big ones, they enrage me. Sometimes knowing the truth is much better, indeed. Sometimes I think: if you don’t want to hurt me with the truth, then don’t hurt me with a lie, in these cases it’s better to not say anything at all.
Is silence better then? I prefer to be told the truth at all times, it may hurt the moment you tell me, but I surely will trust you more. Thank you Sam for sharing this with us. Am glad you stopped by.
I don’t know. Sometimes the truth can be more damaging. Have you never had a moment you wish you could turn back time and un-know something? I have. Not often, but some things I do not need to know. Do I prefer the truth over a lie? Yes. But if the truth doesn’t add to my eventual happiness or growth and will only hurt me and slow me down, I don’t want either the truth or a lie.

im sorry you woke up with these thoughts as that is not a good way to start the day. but i am glad you were able to let out your feelings as to hold them in can be harmful to your physical and mental health.
i think we may say we really want the truth, but as a person who wants to preserve the feelings of others, i may not give the full truth. i dont tell people what i think they want to hear. i would like to make them feel comfortable and sometime the whole truth is not always the best at the time and a way to ease the hurt maybe best.
but what do i really know as i would rather rip the bandaid of quickly, than slowly pull it off.
i do think knowing the person would make me do what i think is best. but overall, i feel people just do what they think is best and as long as we can see that, what more can we ask of them. without telling each other what we expect from each other how would we know what we really should do.
Buddy, the length the human brain can stretch is beyond our imaginations. Wake up with these thoughts doesn’t mean I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. It simply means I slept pondering on somethings and when I woke up my brain could fathom those thoughts. No matter the situation, the truth is I prefer people telling me the truth, they earn my trust by doing that. It’s true that they often tell you lies and make you believe it’s the truth but that doesn’t matter, our sixth sense helps us decipher the truth from the lies. I was raised by my parent’s to always tell and demand the truth no matter what and I grew up with that. I feel and believe that the truth can never be overrated. There are several ways to tell people the truth even if you don’t want to come out directly, but however way you choose make them feel and see the truth in what you are saying.
btw…your opinion does matter to me and i want to hear your voice even if i may not agree with what you have to say. i would not silence it.
