We do not need to live in sin before we appreciate the grace of God. It is true; the more people sinned, the more God’s wonderful grace becomes abundant, but let’s not also forget that, just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The grace of God has been freely given to all through the person of Jesus Christ, it doesn’t mean it came cheap for us to devalue it whenever we feel like it. If in “Free Town” you’re expected to pay for everything you need or would ever need, what makes you think, that you won’t pay for the sins you’ve committed simply because the grace of God richly abounds?

You see, the grace of God isn’t a propeller to sin. It actually helps to refrain you from sin. God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. As I have earlier stated, ” that as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant” – It’s not a benchmark for you to keep sinning or doing what’s wrong.

A colleague of mine and I had a discussion yesterday and he kept telling me how the grace of God can never run out regardless of what we do and how we do it. Yes, we’ve got the grace of God to freely use at our disposal now, but a time will come when that grace will no longer be available and as much as we may not like to hear of the end of anything good; the grace of God has its end too; And, that would be when the trumpet sounds and rapture takes place. You don’t want to wait till that day to find out if it’s true or not do you? ?

Romans 6 asks us a question; “Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? My dearest readers, we do not need to live in sin to fully appreciate the grace of God. We can appreciate it also by living a sin free life and we need the Holy Spirit to live a sin free life; We can’t do it on our own. There’s so much joy found in living a sin free life. Sin gives you a lot of baggage to deal with on a daily basis and when you get accustomed to this kind of living; it gets difficult to see life any other way.

  • Just as evil is a choice, so is goodness. You can choose to live a joyful, happy life and that is mostly found in living a sin free life. You may ask; “Whitney, how possible is that?” It is possible. Start by stopping the little things you do that you consider normal like;
    1. Running the red lights in traffic.
    2. Bribing your way out of everything.
    3. Telling little lies.
    4. Compromising your faith and beliefs so you can fit into where you’re not meant to be in the first place.
    5. Finding it difficult to forgive.
    6. Constantly living life on a defense… this is very disastrous and never a healthy way to live.
    You can add more to the list as you make the decision to live a happy, joyful life.

You need to be disciplined and make constant efforts daily for you to be able to live a sin free life. It’s like giving a candy bar to a child each time he cries and you realize that its no longer healthy for him to have it every day. Failure to give it to him when next he cries will result to a lot. You will see another level of tantrum that you’ve never seen him display before. Remember, he’s doing that to show you he’s not comfortable with you stopping him from having what he needs. And, he’s not giving it up without a fight.

The same will apply to you. The moment you make the decision to be disciplined and to live a sin free life, you ain’t going to get it easy, especially from the enemy. He’s not going to give you up without a fight. You’re going to get tempted in ways you’ve never imagined before. You’ve got to be prepared, if you’re making that decision today. Remember, you’ve got a loyal friend who’s going to help you through in the person of the Holy Spirit. You’re not alone. You’ll never be alone.

It’s time we stopped allowing sin control the way we live and appreciate the grace of God. You become a slave to whatever you choose to obey and we are no longer slaves to sin. Isn’t that amazing ?? I think it is.

Grace and Love ??❤️
