Let’s face it, there are moments when we had to make a choice to either get up or accept defeat right?
As humans, we are all born with the natural instinct not to give up but somewhere along the line, we loose that instincts. When asked what happened, we reply “Life happened and am tired” When we were babies, we cried, screamed until we got what we wanted, without caring if what we wanted was what we needed. As we grew older, we no longer needed to scream or cry before the whole world because we want something. People talk us out of our crazy ideas, especially people who live in the so-called real world, where things “make sense.” To them everything you say that opposes what they believe in, doesn’t make sense. “How annoying right? Most of these people have never attempted the impossible. Some of them were born with a silver spoon and had things handed down to them. But you have, many, many times struggled for almost everything you have in your life right now.
Along the way, you have had to compromise, forced to bribe and take what wasn’t yours just to survive, got reprimanded for any kind acts because everyone believes nothing good can come out of a broken record. Some people will try to discourage you. They may cling to your legs, causing you to drag them along, or jump onto your back, pleading, “In the name of God, please stop what you’re doing!”. Most times when these distractions come, they are intended to shift our attention away from achieving our desired dreams that are at that point in time “Closer”.
Make this realisation your inspiration. Shake off the naysayers and move on, through the mud and the filth and the slime, knowing that you have a higher purpose. Remember, very few people liked Jesus’s work, and if nobody likes yours it’s probably a sign that you’re closer to your pursuit and aspirations.
Today, I learnt that you don’t declare “It’s Over” until you have won. Technically, nothing is ever over until you say so, and oftentimes, when we give up, we are always closer to our breakthrough than we can ever imagine. I told myself that I will have that attitude after I face a rejection. When I go for a meeting and no one shows up, or when someone says you can count on me and when I call them the next day, their phone numbers becomes unavailable or better yet switched off. I am choosing to have the right attitude even when I know I have lost but then, loosing doesn’t mean am out right? No, it doesn’t.
Tough times and difficult times have not come to stay, they will pass. I am not giving up regardless of what may be happening around me. Are you? All things are working for my good, they may not be good to me but they are good for me.
Don’t give up…You are closer to your breakthroughs than you think of. Your dreams are calling for you and you owe it to yourself to answer.
